Halloween in Paris: Events for Tweens, Teens, & Adults

A few days ago I published a post about kid-friendly Halloween celebrations in Paris. Click HERE to read the post. However, if you have older kids or teens, or are looking to celebrate Halloween without kids, those options may not be top of your wishlist.

Not to worry, I've got you covered. From parties and music fests to Haunted Houses and scary movies, there's something for everyone in Paris this Halloween.

Halloween in Paris for Tweens, Teens, and Adults

1- The American Library in Paris

Each year the American Library hosts a Halloween party for kids of all ages. The activities for the younger kids are held during the day, and the activities for older children are held later in the day.  There is trick or treating for all ages throughout the day. In the evening, there are Haunted Walks in the neighbourhood, divided into two categories- Family Walks for children aged 8+, and then walks for teens aged 16+. The library also hosts a Horror Fest for children aged 12+ with film clips, scary stories, and more. Cost is 5 Euros for members and 15 Euros for non-members. Accompanying adults are free.

2- Le Manoir de Paris

The Manoir is a pretty creepy attraction year-round, with escape games and horror shows running regularly, but they up the creep factor at Halloween. This year the Halloween show runs from October 16 to November 1st and is called Malediction and Asylum Infernum. The show lasts almost an hour and is recommended for ages 12+, but keep in mind that in France, Game of Thrones is also recommended for 12+. Also, pregnant women and those with heart problems are prohibited from participating. The venue is wheelchair accessible and the show is available in both English and French.

  • Dates: October 16th-November 1st. Check websites for specific dates and times and to book tickets.
  • Great for teens, adults

3- The Catacombs

Paris has a wondrous underground world full of tunnels lined with the bones of about 6 million bodies dug up from cemeteries years ago. While not specifically a Halloween event, a tour of the underground filled with skulls staring back at you is certain to put you in a Halloween state of mind. Guaranteed to impress even the most hard to please teen. The visit is underground, so dress warmly. It lasts around 45 minutes. From Tuesday to Sunday. For specific times and tours in English, check the website. Last entry 7pm. Want to win a chance to spend the night? AirBnB is holding a contest for two people to spend Halloween night in the catacombs. Enter to win, if you dare!

4- Paris Aquarium

This Halloween, the Paris Aquarium (located across from the Eiffel Tower) is putting on a dance party for children aged 11-15. From 7-9:30 pm a DJ will spin music and costumed tweens and teens will show off their costumes and enjoy non-alcoholic cocktails with a Halloween twist. And for parents? While you wait for your child, the Aquarium offers a special night visit complete with a glass of champagne. Ooh la la!

5- Prizoners

Looking for something a little scarier? Try Prizoners, the escape game geared toward adults. At Prizoners, you choose your theme, then work with your team to get all the clues needed to escape the room within the time allotted. While they do make exceptions for families with children, the website states quite clearly that the games are meant for adults, and recommend visitors be at least 15 to participate, unless a parent will be present for younger children. The website is in French.

  • Website: Prizoners
  • Date: Ongoing. Check the website for reservation information.
  • Great for adults. Older teens may also enjoy it.

6- The 40th Anniversary of the Rocky Horror Picture Show

If you thought you'd miss the chance to get all dressed up and sing your heart out to this classic film, you're in luck! The Centquatre is showing a screening of the film Halloween night, and they've decided to make a party out of it! DJ, dance floor, contests, make-up stand, and the whole place decorated like the mansion in the movie. From 7pm-2am. Better brush up on those moves!

7- Parc de Thoiry

On Halloween weekend, Thoiry Castle and park hosts a Murder Party. Working in teams to solve a mystery, you must brave the castle and grounds at night. I've been to Thoiry, and it's a huge animal preserve located on sprawling grounds with a real castle. I can imagine how creepy it could be at night! Worth the drive about 30 minutes outside the city.

  • Website: Parc de Thoiry
  • Dates: October 30 and 31st.
  • Great for participants aged 14+

8- La Java

Why not celebrate Halloween with a Mexican themed Day of the Dead celebration? La Java nightclub is hosting a dance party Halloween night, in honor of La Catrina. The party starts at midnight and lasts until dawn, so get your costumes and dancing shoes ready!

  • Website: La Java
  • Date: October 31st
  • Adults only.
